A long-awaited eight months of Elle Kennedy’s beloved Off Campus series casting feels a bit closer to making its way to the screen. Amazon Prime Video is adapting this novel into a highly anticipated TV series. Fans are buzzing with excitement, especially with the recent casting announcements that bring our favorite and beloved Briar University characters to life. It is certainly a big day for annoying people (me).
Meet the Cast of Off Campus
Amazon MGM Studios has assembled a talented ensemble to portray the dynamic characters of the Off Campus universe:
- Ella Bright as Hannah Wells
- Belmont Cameli as Garrett Graham
- Mika Abdalla as Allie Hayes
- Antonio Cipriano as John Logan
- Jalen Thomas Brooks as John Tucker
- Stephen Kalyn as Dean Di Laurentis
- Josh Heuston as Justin Kohl
Personally, this casting list is everything and more. I feel like our universe that we have had for so long is finally coming to life on the big screen. First, nothing could have prepared me for the amazing cast of Hannah and Garrett. I have loved Cameli since Along for the Ride and have been dying to see him in more. Bright as Hannah is so refreshing—I love to see new faces in series and films. It brings such a vibrant feel.
Filming is set to commence in Vancouver this June, with Louisa Levy as showrunner and executive producer. Additionally, Elle Kennedy herself is also on board as executive producer, ensuring the adaptation stays true to the spirit of the novels.
The Essence of The Deal
The heart and first book of the Off Campus series is The Deal, the introduction to the compelling Briar University series. The story follows Hannah Wells, a witty college student who, despite her apparent strengths, carries the weight of past trauma. When agreeing to tutor the (hot) hockey team captain, Garrett Graham, in exchange for a fake date to capture the attention of Justin, neither anticipates the vulnerable and genuine connection that sparks between them.
Classic trope—I never get tired of it. I think I read the book in one sitting, literally. Kennedy masterfully weaves themes of healing, vulnerability, and personal growth not just in The Deal, but throughout the series, in ways that resonate with readers. The novel does not shy away from touching on serious issues and portrays each character’s journey with authenticity.
The Off Campus fandom wasted no time taking to TikTok, sharing their excitement about the newly announced cast. This captures perfectly how I felt when I saw the casting—literally me. I love Janelle, she’s me in fangirl form.

For those new to the series or looking to revisit the novels, I would heavily consider doing so. It doesn’t get better than this.
