Episode Review: 9-1-1 Season 8, Episode 18 – “Seismic Shifts”

Let me just start off by saying although we got no indication at all that Buddie is going canon, there were gayzing looks. First of all, I feel like this entire episode was rushed. Like, forgive me, but 911 writers what happened to hello, how are you? I quite literally cannot gather my thoughts.

Buddie, Buck, and the Emotional Whiplash

First of all Buck, not you telling Ravi to “sit down” not even two episodes ago and now you’re like I am going to transfer, the 118 is just a number. Like what happened to that line, Buck?

Also, if Eddie mentioned one more time that he was going back to Texas I was going to collapse—because no you’re not, you’re coming home.

I have very, very little faith for Buddie to even get an ounce of canon next season. Like let’s throw all the storylines that we fans want to see together at the end and call it a day.

I love 911, I do, but I expected more. I will never not appreciate any Buck and Eddie moments though, regardless of the baiting they are severely doing. You mean to tell me Eddie was so locked in on Buck that he didn’t see Ravi coming? Yup, brothers this, brothers that. Ryan Guzman, you two are husbands. That moment alone will be all I am thinking about until the Fall.

Buck is moving out?? “It wasn’t really mine” — what happened to “This is Eddie’s house, I’m not really a guest”?

Captain Chimney, Athena’s Sideline, and the Music Hits

I will be the first of many to say that Chimney is giving new captain vibes. Like, I loved his speech at the end and Hen’s little “yes cap,” like yes, Captain Chimney.

Also, what is up with 911 playing heartbreaking songs? I heard “Heal” and was like please nobody die I can’t take this again.

Athena was thrown to the sidelines I feel like this entire episode. First, she sold the house her and Bobby were building. I wish we would’ve seen more decision-making on that—or maybe more spiraling once she finally settled.

Final Thoughts & Fall Hopes

You know, if they can’t give us some form of canon, maybe 911: Nashville will. Which I am excited for and can’t wait to cover.

Can’t wait to see Chimney becoming captain, and Buck and Eddie—get your stuff together. Thank you.

Also I am still always at the resturant.

Some Thoughts:

  • I wish we would’ve seen more of Maddie giving birth since the last one was literally torture with Albert and what not.
  • Buck, you will not find a new place… you will be roommates with Eddie.
  • ALSOO Robert Nash Han, yes.
  • I’m still not over Eddie’s little strand of hair—like yes, keep it out, plus a stubble.
  • Aunt Pepa, you were supposed to save us Buddie warriors.
  • Also, all and every interview of Ryan and Oliver were gold. I recommend watching.

See you guys for more reviews in the fall.
