We’ll Always Have Summer… But Will We Survive Season 3?

Somehow the downfall of Jeremiah doesn’t feel close enough, yet we are literally 16 days away from the release of Season Three of The Summer I Turned Pretty. Let’s talk about it.

I feel like summer has officially started, and the Cousins Beach chaos and the Conrad and Belly angst is already here. I cannot imagine all the destruction Jenny Han has in store for us.

If you didn’t know already, we’re getting two episodes on July 16th, and then the rest will release once a week. I don’t know about you, but that was somehow the best and worst news ever. I appreciate the weekly episodes for the sake of my emotional stability… but still. I know I will cry at almost every sad scene. I was a wreck during the finale of Season Two—Exile playing took me all the way out.

One thing (apart from Bonrad endgame) that I’m most excited for? The playlist. The Taylor Swift songs, and all the new music we’ve gotten in the almost two years since Season Two? I cannot imagine. I just know the emotional destruction it will put me through. Jenny Han, you genius.

Here’s a quick peek into my mental state, sixteen days out from Season Three:

  • I have been watching edits like a madman
  • I just rewatched Season One
  • I am bracing myself for the playlist
  • And bracing myself for any sneak peeks ahead

Since the release of the trailer—and endlessly scrolling on TikTok—I’ve seen a few theories. One being that Belly is not walking at her own wedding at the end, but perhaps Steven and Taylor’s? I mean… did we see either of them in the trailer? No. It’s a good theory, you guys have to admit. (Also I hope Belly is not in a slick black on her own wedding.)

I’ve also been manifesting a few key Season Three book scenes:

  • The peach ring scene
  • The scene where Conrad hurts himself surfing
  • The beach scene where Conrad is literally clawing at his heart because of how much his love for Belly HURTS
  • And finally (and I think we will be getting these—fingers crossed), the final page of the book where they’re running to the water and maybe we even see that dear old photo in their living room

I’m manifesting these scenes, but let’s be real—they’re a must. I don’t make the rules.

I feel like I’m rewatching every show known to man and starting new ones just to pass the time until the new season drops. Currently on my annual One Tree Hill rewatch.

What I will say is: I am beyond excited for the summer to officially begin. I never realize how insane I sound about this show until the month it premieres.

Finally, I’ll leave you with this:

HE THOUGHT SHE KNEW.

Happy July my lovelies. ❤
