Episode Review: The Buccaneers Season 2, Episode 4- “Ice Cream”

Guys, I have so many thoughts I cannot even comprehend. First, let’s celebrate the GuyNan reunion.

I was beyond excited to see my GuyNan together again, even if it was short-lived. All I could think about was Futile Devices when they were dancing and laughing in dear old Italy. I haven’t had such a big smile on my face since last season, dare I say. I was like, Guy stop being stubborn at first, but then they snuck off and he said he missed her, and I melted.

I just want them to be together and laugh and dance and eat damn ice cream and just live the perfect effortless life they’ve dreamed of. I know there was so much going on this episode, but their sweet moments melted my heart.

Dowager Duchess and Reede made me tear up, I’ll admit. I just look at their story and it reminds me so much of Guy and Nan, and it makes me break down. If my Guy and Nan do not have a happy ending, I will riot.

Their little moments were the sweetest—the whispers of what they could have had and the silence between stares. It genuinely makes me wonder if that is how Guy and Nan will end up, but I refuse. I genuinely am excited for the Dowager and Reede’s scenes—they are definitely most anticipated.

Now the two that had my jaw on the floor over and over—Theo and Lizzy. I did not expect the girl to pull the move she did, but you know what, me too girl. The tension between the two was electric to the touch this episode. I had to take a lap too many times to count.

Theo yearning is something I never knew I needed. Also, after seeing a still of him standing in the rain pulling off the most divine move, is also something I never knew I needed. I need that image ingrained in my mind. I’ll never get over it.

Also, I love Lizzy, but please girl—Nan hasn’t even been gone for a week, and you are kissing Theo. I love you so your actions are dismissed, but also, I saw a clip of Theo playing some type of sport (I’m sorry for my lack of knowledge) and someone kicking the ball towards him—Lizzy? I think so. I am here for Lizzy and Theo and am 100% on board. What are your guys’ thoughts?

My sweet Jinny. I wanted to go through my screen and drag her away from Seadown. I immediately knew it was him knocking on that damn door when I heard it. I was like, Nan? Guy? Paloma? Somebody come and save my girl.

I understand why she didn’t say anything to Nan though—she felt guilt for ripping Nan away from the life she was supposed to have. Seeing them happy and feeling like she’s in a prison—those two don’t mix well. Not that I am happy, not even in the slightest, that Jinny is going back with that monster, but that means Guy would perhaps come back… well.

A few moments I was loving and maybe hating?:

  • I need to see more of Mabel and Honoria. I know they are “side characters” but please?
  • Conchita and Mabel having a little tension in the moment of finding out Conchita was being paid by her mother to find Mabel a match… hurt. I just want her to be like, guys please I am in love with Honoria, but we all know why she can’t.
  • Also Paloma seeing Guy and Nan—I mean I assume Jinny is going back, not sure when, but will she tell her?
  • The shots and song choices are to die for. Whoever is in charge of that this season, you are doing an outstanding job.

I feel like there is so much to say and so much to ramble on about—we all know I love to do that—but there is always an end to my thoughts.

That being said, next episode is Lizzy’s wedding. I know it is going to serve every trope in every universe and do it well.

Until next week, I’ll be crying over dancing in Italy and taking laps over Theo in the rain.
